I’m Back!

Okay, so I thought this is going to be some sort of my journal while I was student teaching but I wasn’t able to visit this page when things got busy during my internship. Well, I just want you to know that I already graduated and yay! hello real world for me. Things will get tougher this time.

I am actually still looking for a job but I hope I can find one soon and could start at June.

I’ll try to update this blog from time to time.

ST Life: Week 2

Today has been a long day. I woke up really early, about 3:30am. I took shower to be finally awake. I accomplished my unfinished forms but haven’t done it that time because I ran out of ink. I was off to school at about 5:45 and got there by 6:30. Fast.

It was raining very hard and we didn’t have a flag ceremony. We waited for the office to open so that we could sign in. I felt great being early at school, but I kinda felt bored because I wasn’t used to it. The goddess of punctuality could have rewarded me for what I did today. haha..

In the afternoon, we went to observe a class. That was the class that we were actually going to teach days from now. It was fun watching them having fun. They’re so natural that you won’t feel like a special person or someone out of place. Actually, they welcomed us with their crazy stuffs that pained my stomach with so much laughter.

In the middle of their class, we were introduced (probably just to break the ice). So there we were introducing ourselves then suddenly they’re saying something like “Mow-two” Mow-two”. At first, I didn’t get what they were telling us but then I realized they’re asking for or motto in life. How they pronounced motto was really different it made laugh. They’re really crazy, not literally. I hope to bond with them more and I really pray that I could really get along with them.

I could still remember the feeling I had when i stepped inside the school during the first day of my Student teaching and the first day I wore our ST uniform. I don’t know if my fellow student teachers had felt this but when I wore the uniform, it has some sort of a power. Haha. No, not really a power like those in the movies but wearing the uniform kind of boosts your confidence and gives you a feeling of authority. It’s like you want to say, “Hey, I’m a teacher now.”

ST Life: Day 2

Today is quite an exhausting day. Though what we did was just sit and listen and do a little work, I really feel exhausted. I don’t know if it was because I was loaded with much information that I can’t contain it anymore or I still have hangover from yesterday’s exhaustion.

We attended two mini-seminars today. In the morning, we tackled about portfolio- what is it, why is it important in our student teaching life and our future career as well, and how to make it. There are really no definite rules on making our portfolio but of course there are some suggestions on what to include. One important thing that I’ve learned: “Start your portfolio as early as now.”

In the afternoon, we were taught on how to fill up different school forms such as the Form 1 (School Register), Form 138 (Report Card), Form 137-A (Permanent Record), and Form 18-A (Report on Secondary Promotions). It was a tiring one since we did a lot of writing. I really felt exhausted this afternoon. I cannot hold any additional information from our professor’s lecture. I can hear the words, the terms but none was really absorbed by my brain. In the last minutes of the seminar, I was just there inside the room, sitting but absorbing nothing. Sorry, memory full.

I enjoyed this day, though. It’s so much fun wearing your Student teaching uniform and every people you know would greet you in a different way. Almost everyone were like “Wow, you really look like a teacher now” and it’s kind of flattering and I have to admit that these simple praises boost my confidence.

ST Life: Day 1

10:00pm Today’s my first day as a student teacher and I decided to make this blog to keep myself and my future followers updated about my daily experiences.

Surely, being a teacher is not an easy job. You just can’t be there in front of the students sitting pretty all the time. In the surface, being a teacher seems like an easy task but when you go deeper you could see how stressful, pressured, hard yet enjoyable it can be.

Today’s my first day and I felt very nervous yet excited at the same time. However, we aren’t in the field yet. What we did today was just an orientation- basic rules, uniforms, whatnots, and blah-blahs.

It was kind of fun actually, knowing your fellow STs from different sections and fields of specialization. The orientation went smooth, we had an election of officers and I was elected as the Business manager which is actually not my expertise. It’s a new experience again.

Tomorrow, we’re going to learn about recording in the different school forms and other important parts of our student teaching. We will be flooded by seminars tomorrow and I think it won’t be an easy day. But I hope things will turn out fine like how it did today.

I am a teacher. I mold, I teach, I inspire.
